HOMESCHOOL AND FLOWERS

It's been nice to get back into a normal school routine this week. After spring break last week and standardized testing the week before that - we were all ready for school again! I was expecting Banana to have a little bumpy transition day (like she usually does on Mondays), but she was more than ready for her school work and has put forth 200% effort!! Even Boo is anxious to get back to her structured learning.

Here she is working with her sequencing pattern blocks. I find it so interesting to discover each kids strengths and weaknesses. You can tell in the picture above that she loves to write, and you can tell in the picture below, that she is still struggling a little with the concept of sequencing. For some reason, that concept isn't being comprehended in her little brain as quickly as she would like it to be!! I love her expression.

A sweet look from Banana in the middle of spelling.

We always end up outside on the deck lately, it's just too beautiful out to stay inside for long. This spring has been so welcome after all the snows of this winter. This bird feeder was a birthday gift for Banana from her Aunt Stephanie - it's so pretty, and I LOVE, LOVE the bokeh in the background of the morning sun shining through the brand new leaves on the trees.

And I think these are the most beautiful colored tulips I have ever seen!! I bought them in a pot before they even had buds on them, and the picture on the pot was nothing like they turned out to be - I think they are simply gorgeous.

We planted some flowers in pots on the deck this week - it's still a little too early to plant them in the ground - ya' just never know if it will be 100 degrees or 32 degrees around here in the spring time!

This morning Boo got out her Goobi magnetic construction set and made a few creations. I have a shelf of these types of educational toys that she can pull out whenever she wants - usually she does this as she is waiting for ME to start school - she is always so anxious to begin her school day. I hope that love for learning never goes away.

This could certainly count as a preschool science lesson as she discovered that the metal chair attracts her magnetic creations!!
