Baby Bunny

Every year about this time we usually have a nest of baby bunnies under our front steps - we love peeking outside to see if we can spot a few.  Tonight - this friendly little guy played a little game of catch me if you can - and we COULD!!

I snapped this one just as we all screamed at her not to kiss the bunny - no worries - she didn't get her lips bit off!

And then we let him go.  :)

NCCS Graduating Seniors

Tonight was our school's first ever Baccalaureate, for our first ever graduating class of Seniors.

They are presenting this banner to the school this Friday at graduation.

I am so impressed with this group of young men and women.   The classical education they have received is astounding, and it shows!!  My Punkin is going to miss them so much next year. Even though they are a very studious, incredibly intelligent, highly motivated group of kids......

They still know how to HAVE FUN!!!

Right now I'm listening to these girls and my own girls outside having a BLAST - in the dark!!

The Ministry of Motherhood

I'm currently reading this book which has come highly recommended by several people that I highly respect. I'm only half-way through, but it's one that I just can't put down.

"A mother's day is packed with a multitude of tasks that require energy and time: preparing meals, washing clothes, straightening and cleaning the house, and caring for the children.  These jobs all are necessary and crucially important.  But in the dailyness of providing for a child's physical, emotional and social needs, vital opportunities for spiritual nurturing and training can be overlooked."

"Using biblical wisdom and practical teachings, Sally Clarkson shows how you can make a lasting difference in your child's life by following the pattern Christ set with his own disciples - a model that will inspire and equip you to intentionally embrace the rewarding, desperately needed, and immeasurably valuable Ministry of Motherhood."

New Covenant Father-Daughter Dance 2011

Our church hosted the first annual Father-Daughter Dance this past weekend.  My girls have gone for years to a father-daughter dance at a large local church, but this year our own small church community decided we could do one as well!

It was a beautiful picture of what every little girl dreams of - especially when guided by her Daddy.

There was a dance instructor teaching all sorts of wonderful things like the waltz and the foxtrot.

This dad took the prize for having the most daughters!!  He has NINE!  (not to mention six sons - I think).

Prizes were awarded for the youngest father-daughter couple, as well as the oldest father-daughter couple.  One of the things I love so much about our church community is the broad age range, and seeing how the older ones mentor the younger ones.
