A WINTER WALK

What do you do when you wake up on Monday morning to face another week of ridiculous amounts of snow, and small children to keep cooped up in the house AGAIN? Why, you take an early morning walk of course. It helped put things in perspective.

Oh the work it takes to step off the sidewalk...

The rising sun was beautiful coming through the bare tree branches. Do you see the brave birds roosting in the tops of the trees?

Boo found this "crystal egg". She was rather unhappy after she carried it all the way home to discover that it had disappeared into a wet spot on her mittens.
Photobucket
We wondered what might live in this hole right in someone's front yard.
Photobucket
Soaking up the sun on our faces while we can....
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Pausing to snap a picture of the most beautiful things on our walk.
Photobucket
We interrupt this winter walk with breaking news..... wait for it...... could it be??........
holy guacomole we have found a BUD!!!! A sure sign that spring will come at some point, whether it feels like it or not. It seems impossible somehow.
Photobucket
We suddenly have a little more "spring" in our steps!
Photobucket
But it's hard to skip in snow clothes.
Photobucket
Critter tracks of some sort.

Back in our yard, what is left of my hydrangea bush. One little sad stick, with a glimpse of hopeful life at the tip. It's amazing how it will grow back within a few months to a huge bush bursting with huge flowers as large as my hand.
Photobucket
We are seeing some progress with the snow melting, this little car was almost completely covered last week.

And my little red bird roosting in her favorite tree.

Looks like a fun way to spend Monday morning. Spring will soon be on it's way to you and then you can send it to me!

I guess you can start by saying "this too shall pass". Man, how much snow can one place get? I am also wondering how much cold can Florida get? We are supposed to get cold again after a few days of wonderful sunshine and a little warmth. Spring will come one day I hope.

It's snowing as I type, but we're not supposed to receive the inches that you are going to see. You inspired me to take Sophie for a walk this morning--it was so quiet and peaceful as the snow was falling around us. Thanks :o)! Stay warm! And, yes, hopefully Spring will be here soon :o)!!
