What a weekend!! We headed out to Deep Creek Lake, MD with three other families all racing trying to beat the huge blizzard heading our way. We almost beat it. It caught us in about the last half hour and made that last part of the drive a little scary, and very slow. This was our view, following snow mobiles.
Our cabin - it was great!!
As soon as we arrived, the blizzard hit full force! We decided to brave the elements anyway. It was completely crazy! We all walked out on the frozen lake and felt the full force of the wind. You had to have your back to it or the crazy wind and snow was painful.
I was using a very high shutter speed which would normally "freeze" the motion of the snow - but it was blowing too hard as you can see!
The next day, the storm let up a bit and we started to dig out. It was still snowing hard, but the wind had died down some.
1 - 2 - 3 fall!! The kids all making snow angels.
Seriously???
Crazy deep drifts.
The boys!
And then we would warm up by one of the fireplaces and watch the snow fall, play games, hang out, eat, and laugh!
The kiddos!!
This sign cracked me up - it says "Whoever prayed for snow, thank you. Now please stop."
Those crazy girls would jump into the hot tub under the deck and grab the icicles that were hanging off of it!
Forecast is calling for 20 more inches of snow today and tomorrow! Crazy.
