Rain - By Enola Chamberlin
I like to watch the rain come down.
It wets the roofs all over town.
It shines along our own wide street,
And far away it wets the wheat
And makes it grow. It wets the trees
Where plums and peaches hang, and these
Grow big and ripe till they become
The sweetest kind of peach and plum
Oh, rain may not let me go out
Upon the walk to run and shout,
But it is good for one and all,
And I thank God who makes it fall.
This poem was scheduled in Banana's curriculum today - isn't God so infinitely amazing to send us this poem in the middle of a monsoon?

Looks like the girls had fun in spite of the rain. It rained here Monday and Tuesday and for whatever reason--the pitter patter makes me so sleepy :). Enjoy your day!

I love E's outfit!! Fun times playing in the garage when it rains. Hope you don't get tooooo much rain today. The Twin Cities are flooding now from the rain of a week ago - the rivers keep rising.

Lots of rain. Is it from the hurricane or what? Just think if it was freezing it would all be snow. Great pictures.

Nana - you are so funny. YES - The entire east coast is being flooded right now. Looks like a giant fire hose stream from FL all the way up to New England! Part of it is from the tropical system and it is combining with some other system - we have had record rain, even more than the hurricanes that come through. Schools closed early today due to flooding, roads are closed everywhere, and there is already a two hour school delay tomorrow. I've never seen anything like it before! They say parts of MD have seen 12 inches already. Nuts!
