Create Beautiful Effects with Bokeh

Check out that bokeh!! (the blurry lights in the background).  You can make any shape you like using a very simple and practically free method.  All you need are some scissors, tape and black construction paper.

Yes, one day I will want to remember her just the way she is - with a perpetually filthy dirty face.  She could use a full-time mommy just to keep her face clean.

This is just our Christmas tree in the background.
This is all you have to do - make a lens hood for your lens and put it on the lens, and snap away! You will get the best effect using a lens with a very wide aperture, I used my 50 mm 1.4 lens.  You can find the complete directions BY CLICKING HERE.   This is a frugal way to imitate the kind of kits that are available for purchase LIKE THESE.  Here are the ones I made.

I have seen this, but I've never taken the time to try it! Last year, I was tempted to do Mickey heads (we went to Disney not long after Christmas)!! These turned out great! I think you've inspired me to try it this year!! ;)

Oh Mickey heads would be great! It is really very simple and took no time at all. I could go crazy coming up with different shapes! Glad you are inspired Carrie!
