Homeschool Co-Op

For this week's Weekly Wrap-Up you get to see our homeschool co-op!  Every Thursday afternoon, the girls enjoy three classes each at co-op.  The first class is their Public Speaking/Drama class - this one is by far their favorite!  They absolutely ADORE their teacher!!  She is incredibly talented!

After drama they move on to Science where they are studying Apologia's Exploring Creation with  Human Anatomy and Physiology.  All the moms take turns teaching the rest of the classes in the afternoon.  Here they are making their "personal person" - each week they add some more parts to their bodies. I love how the older kids help the younger kids.

Here are just a few of our fellow homeschoolers!
Enjoying a puzzle about all the systems of our bodies...
 They have ALL the answers!!
This week we were studying the digestive system and we talked all about the small intestine.
This piece of paper is almost as long as a child's small intestine - 20 feet!! Hard to believe isn't it?
Of course, little boys are rather fascinated by "the end" of the digestive tract..... notice which page the book on the right is opened to??   :)
While Banana is winding up her day with a writing and literature class for bigger kids, Boo enjoys being with just kindergarteners for a special story hour.   This week we read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.
We made our own books, just like Eric Carle, but our titles were "The Very Hungry Kindergartener".   We talked about the days of the week, eating healthy foods (which went right along with our study of the digestive system), and practiced our counting.   We made fingerprint blueberries and strawberries in our books.

We even made some cute little caterpillar clothespins!

Looks like a great time! We have that magnetic body too and my kids love it. Wish I had the patience and diligence to homeschool.

It looks like you have a wonderful co-op! This is only our second year homeschooling and I haven't jumped into any of our local co-ops yet. I may next year. Great photos!

Wow, looks like you have a great co-op! Your pictures are just fantastic. How do you get such amazing crispness and lighting indoors? And they are all great captures - love the little boys with the digestive system, so typical :). Wonderful post as always this week!

Stopping in from Weekly Wrap-Up. I love the header of your blog with the rotating photos. I am working on changing the theme of my blog and struggling with the cost of having someone do it, or getting something I can do myself.
