Yesterday, my friend "Jo" and I decideded to take a day trip to the beach. We are just far away enough from the coast that it is a little much to try to do in a day, but we did it anyway! And I think I will be doing it a lot more often this summer. It took just over two hours to get there, but we left by 7:30 am so it made for a nice full day at the beach. This picture is inspired by my niece Casey - a Maryland (or was it Delaware?) bridge. These pictures are from my pocket camera.
We made it!! ahhhhhh - the beach - I think I hear it calling my name.....
We met up with Enchanted Warrior and family who happened to be vacationing at the beach. This picture is all of our kids (minus one - Maddie, who has apparently became a working girl this summer). Oh, and one more is missing who happened to be digging in the sand just then.
Me and my girls!!
The teens...
Miss Boo will write the ABC's just about anywhere!!
Banana and her buddy "J"
I love how Banana's hair curls around her face in the ocean air.
Boo had a grand time playing with Mr. Leu - together they made a snow man, or sand man, which they decided was a sand lady. Who knew how entertaining throwing a small floating ball into the ocean could be? He threw it, and she retrieved it about 2,532 times.
The famous Enchanted Warrior and hubby Leu.
Banana and her buddy just returning from "Horse Racing" on the boardwalk -a tradition for J's family at the beach - they won!!
Where did that sand come from?
The whole gang....well, part of the gang really..
We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolpins swimming just off the shore - watch closely and you can see them. They are hard to see on this video - but we even saw one jump completely out of the water and land on its back! What a great day!!

Your pictures are just beautiful. Be careful the sand gets in your blood and you can't stay away. Love the beach!
Looks like you guys moved in for the day! I like the shops and boardwalk area - what a fun way to spend the day at the beach.
Looks like everyone had a good time. Was it warm? It looks like it was. I did see the dolphin in the video.
Looks like a wonderful time! I saw the dolphins too :)!
Nana - It was warm when we got to the beach, and sunny. But then it was overcast and breezy and 74, so I thought it was a little chilly. But you know what they say.... "A bad day at the beach is better than a good day anywhere else!"
looks like you had a wonderful time. Sorry for stealing Maddy away from all the FUN! My girls loved having her to themselves :)
Enjoy your summer!
