Deck the Halls

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Love my little tree collection in the kitchen window.
And this candle - OH THIS CANDLE!! The smell is simply divine.
These are Hannah's bird Christmas dishes that she received last year - they are just so Hannah!

We went with a new snowflake theme this year on the tree - I found these big snowflakes at the dollar store and I'm in love with them!   And I got the idea from Pinterest to put the girls initials on the tree - so cute! Those I found at Michael's for $1.
My favorite ornament I left on the table top this year - it says "Every Knee Shall  Bow" - love that!  (please excuse the dust) :)

Those snowflakes sure make the gray winter skies look a little more festive through the window.

We always have to rearrange our huge sectional couch to make the tree fit in the family room and this year we tried something new - it's a little crowded  but I love this cozy reading nook right  by the window.

And this year we have a new semi-permanent girl in the house - looks like Christopher Elf wanted to make her feel very welcome.
Even the deck has been decked!!

And the "dorm" in the basement as we now call it is looking quite festive! (This week there are three teenage girls living down here - so fun!!)
A peek at the stairwell in the basement - I just have to say - Y'all this is the BEST idea ever - we keep all kiddos socks in this basket drawer shelf which is just outside the mudroom - it is a lifesaver when it comes to getting out the door quickly.  Everyone's socks are in one place, they each have a drawer.  (See the sock peeking out?)
Of course the NCCS fundraiser Christmas wreath - keeping fresh wreaths inside helps them last a little longer than having them outside where the sun dries them out quickly.
A basket by the front door for all the Christmas cards.
Miss Emily has her own little Christmas spot with a kid-friendly nativity set which was a gift from her Aunt Stephanie years ago and gets a TON of use each year.  You can find the nativity set HERE.  A basket full of Christmas books is always a favorite.
Candy-Cane cheers to you! Remember the reason for the season - and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
