I used my Canon 5D Mark II with the 135mm L series lens. When the moon was still very bright, I used a very high shutter speed, 5,000 and above, and then when the moon turned red, I used a very slow shutter speed with a tripod. Lots of trial and error until I figured it out - and veeeery cold! :)
BEAUTIFUL! I was up too late and needed to be up too early to find it within myself to watch, but I'm so glad you did because the pictures are amazing.
oh what a perfect song to go with this! Honestly, I have heard that song so much lately that I've gotten kind of tired of it. But seeing those pictures with it puts it in a whole new light!
Wow, Heather. This is just amazing. Thanks for linking up with us at Communal Global today. I am glad you were able to capture some of this magic last night. Stunning.
I am so glad you got some good pictures. I stayed up and watched it. Running back and forth because it was too cold out there. I hate to think how cold you were. Papa saw it when he got up. I stay up all night to see it and he gets up in the middle of the night and gets to see it. It was beautiful. We have an amazing God. I love Him and His creation. Love the words to the song along with the pictures. Did Kirsten or Hannah see it?
Nana - Kirsten saw the beginning of the eclipse, and then went to bed. We woke Hannah up when it was completely covered and looked red. We decided Boo could just enjoy the pictures - it was incredible wasn't it? It looked 3D - like you could just reach out and grab it! God is awesome!
Heather I am already in awe of God - but these photos just put my awe"ness" on a whole new level - WOW WOW WOW! I tried to stay awake but was too sick and fell asleep. Goodness you nailed every single shot!
GORGEOUS!!!!! Thank you for sharing them with us! Beautifully done and these are most certainly timeless treasures!
Merry CHRISTmas to you and your precious family! In His amazing grace, Jill http://fnaphotography.blogspot.com
