HEAT LIGHTNING

This evening, the girls and Nana and I all sat on her back porch and watched and wondered at the marvel of "heat lightning". We had fun talking about all the possiblities of why we could see the lightning, yet hear no thunder. Then we came inside and googled "heat lightning". It was very educational!!

PAPA'S LITTLE HELPERS

Papa planted round two of his "pink-eyed, purple-hull" peas. This time all his grandchildren helped him. I'm sure all his rows won't be nice and straight, and there will be lots of bare spots and lots of clumped up beans growing together, but these peas were sown with lots of fun and love and memories.

Long after everyone else grew bored and too hot, Hannah was still out there working away with her Papa. I'm sure her green thumb will go far in Papa's garden.

THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA MUSEUM

My mom and I took the girls today to the museum of natural history at UF. They had the most spectacular butterfly exhibit - it was a giant screened in area with millions of butterflies. These pictures just don't do it justice. They guides there said they were particularly active today, it seemed just like a fairy land with butterflies flying all around. I was never quick enough to catch a picture of one landing on us, but one even landed on the top of my head!

SWIMMING IN PAPA AND GRANDMA MARION'S POOL

On Sunday afternoon, we went to visit my dad and stepmom for a while and the girls (and the boys) enjoyed their pool.

SPLASHING WITH THE COUSINS

The girls and I have enjoyed spending time at my sister Jennie's house, and the girls especially enjoyed the pool!! I wasn't brave enough to take along my camera to the beach, where we spent several days. I hear the horror stories about the sand and cameras. You can see the pictures my sister took at http://djscpippinfamily.blogspot.com/
